Work from Anywhere

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted traditional work as lockdowns impelled businesses to shift to remote, virtual work environments. Now, Australian consultants Alison Hill and Darren Hill report, the post-COVID work world may be changed forever. They recount how their firm, Pragmatic Thinking, faced this challenge and share their experience and wisdom. They argue that “work from anywhere” (WFA) could be as disruptive as the invention of the personal computer. They discuss how to maintain your corporate culture, manage dispersed teams and lead in a hybrid workspace.

Making Remote Work Work

Work from the beach, the mountains or your house. Work your own hours, as long as you get the job done. Until the Industrial Revolution, doing your job from home was a worker’s only option. Now, remote work may well dominate the labor landscape again. Increasingly, firms are allowing employees to work remotely and, with the onset of COVID-19, many companies and workers had no other option. Writing before the pandemic, Gil Gildner – cofounder of Discosloth, a fully remote marketing firm – explains everything companies and workers need to know about the pros and cons of virtual work and a virtual workforce.

Drive Results and Resolve Conflict in a Hybrid Workplace

Becoming an effective leader in a traditional work setting can be challenging enough. Being a leader in a hybrid workplace requires an altered skill set. These leaders play many roles: Project manager, coach, mediator, productivity guru, and more to drive results. Conflict in this environment can add another layer of stress and risk to performance. In this course, Marlene Chism teaches leaders how to expand their skills to support employees and overall performance in this dynamic work environment.
